Fresh, whole coconuts from farms in Sri Lanka are harvested and removed of their brown skin. The white meat inside is then milled to shreds and dried at a low heat temperature for around 2 hours to maintain all its nutritional value. Once the drying is complete, the milled coconut is passed through a cold process oil press where the oil is extracted from the coconut and a controlled temperature of around 48 degrees Celsius (120f).
The Coconut Oil is then collected and sent through a series of mechanical filters, which leaves the oil in a clear, water state (known as Extra Virgin Coconut Oil). The filtered Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is pumped through the final filter to remove any final debris, stored in its drum and then sent to Cocan Headquarters.
